Here is the link to Explain Everything.
Screen casting can assist teacher-librarians by providing a tool to introduce new material, lessons and technology in the library and provide more time to invest in practice and discussions. A teacher librarian can record a screencast explaining new learning in the library and share the video through an online classroom website so students can watch and learn before coming to the LLC. Screen casting can be used in the library to introduce new learning experiences in the library from book promotions, author visits, new technology, and explain how to use new technology in the library. Screen recording is great for online learners and absent students to access information required for continued learning.
At intermediate and high school grade level LLC students could create screen casting explaining a new app, website or technology tool to share with the school community through the library website for teachers and students to use as resources to learn to use new technology.
I used the Explain Everything whiteboard to screen cast and explain how to use a Linoit board. I found the free version of the Explain Everything application easy to use but not easy to save or create a link. You could only have 1 minute of video to create a link to share with others. I have include all of the information I wanted to share to properly explain the Lino Board as I have to reduce my video to be able to share it using the free version.

What is Linoit? Lino is a free online website where you can create information boards using sticky notes to post memos, to-do lists, ideas, and photos anywhere on an online web canvas. The Lino user can create a board for private use, for sharing with the public, or to share with individuals who have been given a link to the owner's board.
To start the user will create a login with username and password, this is important to retrieve your lino board to make changes or additions to your board later.
My screen shows a typical Lino cork board background. There are other back grounds to select from. On the top right is where you access the feature to create your sticky notes for the Lino board.
Some of the features the Lino offers are to add pictures. You can choose you size and add a frame and label your picture. Here I am adding a screen shot of my library “Design Challenge” “Updating the plan” and my ideas for my “Library Redesign”.
Try out Lino for yourself and with your students!
Questions:
What other websites have others used to successfully screen cast information or create lessons and sharing learning? What screen casting sites are good for student use?
