For this discussion post, I used a TinkerCad tutorial to create a 3D Design of a luggage tag. The Luggage tag was part of the lesson section where TinkerCAD states “lessons help you learn important skills in just a few steps - so you can master 3D design in no time.” (TinkerCAD, 2021) I didn’t find a tutorial section that walked the user through each step like we experienced on the Scratch website. My experience in using TinkerCAD was similar to when I first started using Canva. It required time tinkering with the platform before I became familiar with using the product. In developing knowledge and understanding of the TinkerCAD platform, I feel it would be an excellent addition to the Learning Library Commons. Students could create designs using Makerspace materials, re-create their ideas using TinkerCad and develop models of their design using the 3D printer. I feel 3D Design would be more suited for Middle school or High School level.
